Update 2 - Game is getting to the finish line...kinda

Loads of new stuff


As of right now the game contains 5 levels. 

They are pretty short atm and don't feature much for a fun replayable gameplay loop.

The 5 level is new, quite a big longer and has a more handcrafted feel to it than the others.


Some additiona I made:

  • The Enemies
    • Helicopter/Cannon thingie: those are now looking way cooler, fly more fluidly, and follow the player dynamically. They also shoot rockets with cool effects
    • Slime: those are little squishy balls that follow the Player slowly. They are slow but if you get to close they will leap and stick to you. They also create cool goopy, cuby goop
    • Movement and general gameplay machanics
      • The Player character moves a bit more slippery and has a rechargeable float function now.
      • There is a heath system now. The player starts with 3 and loses 1 on each hit. If dropped to 0 the player model will crumble into pieces and reveal it's own darkness
      • There are jumppads now. They work pretty simple: touch 'em and they launch you
      • There are 3 items currently (4th one is broken, it's a sword): 1. coins for score: 2. Heal for healing; 3. Rocket for fighting
      • The Player can change shapes now in the middle of the game. In level 5 for example is a ramp. Going up the ramp as a cube is quite ineffective. But a sphere can help out! A hige gap is also quite impossible for both shapes, so you can change into a paper airplane

    The game has most of its machanics now. What's left to do is level design (which is not my strong suit). I'd also like to work on level generation for more replayability and a more endless runner like gameplay. You'll have to wait and see.
